- If our offer is unacceptable or items sent are not precious metal we will return the items free of charge using the same method of despatch.
Items sent
- The Guild of Valuers & Jewellers purchases all precious metal including gold, silver and platinum. If we feel the items sent have more value than just precious metal content we will advise you of this fact. We have many contacts in the second hand and auction world and we will put you in touch with them.
- all items sent must be listed on the sheet provided and all your details must be completed in full and the customer declaration signed.
- by sending us your precious metal you accept that the process of determining a value may involve the use of acids and the filing of the outer surface. This may leave permanent staining or deep scratches.
- To determine the correct weight of precious metal any non precious content such as metal springs in gold watch bracelets for example will be removed before weighing. Should the offer not be accepted the goods will be returned together with any metal pieces removed. In every case we will inform you of any metal content at time of offer.
- At time of offer a breakdown of goods sent will be discussed with you. For example, if different carats of gold are sent these will be sorted and prices for each carat will be notified at time of offer.
- If you wish to send damaged jewellery that includes stones it may be advisable to remove these before sending. We can discuss this during our initial telephone conversation.
Payments
- once you have accepted our offer to purchase payment will be made by BACS payment where the money will be in your account within 4 working days.
- the price quoted will be no less than 75% of the market gold value on the day of offer.
