Michael Norman MIRV FGA FNAG 1933 – 2010
The Guild of Valuers & Jewellers philosophy
is built on the foundations set out by Michael Norman, one of the jewellery trades
most highly respected valuers. Michael had over 50 years experience in the trade
and was one of the founding members of the National Association of Goldsmiths Registered
Valuers Scheme, set up to promote high standards of valuing and to provide a benchmark
to which valuers could aspire.
The Guild of Valuers & Jewellers continues to follow the standards laid down
by Michael.

Steven Jordan FIRV 57289 FGA DGA FNAG
Steven began his career in 1973 working for an independent jeweller in Norfolk,
and after twenty years in the trade working in a variety of valuing and management
positions, he established his own independent high net worth trade valuation service,
Hawksworth Associates. Steven values items of jewellery, silverware, timepieces
and regalia. He is also a keen gemmologist and jewellery historian and a regular
contributor at the Gem Discovery Club and Society of Jewellery Historians meetings.
Steven joined the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers as Senior Valuer in 2008 to head
its valuation service at Goldsmiths’ Hall in association with the Assay Office London.
In 2009 Steven was awarded Valuer of the Year by the NAG.

Nick Bailey MIRV 87499
Nick Bailey is an NAG Registered Valuer and has over 25 years’ experience in the
trade. He started his working life at jewellery retailer Miltons of Liverpool in
1978 and in 2005 joined the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers as a Guild Valuer to
carry out valuation days and assist in claims validation work.

Rupert Huddy BSc(Hons) FGA DGA PJ Dip. MIRV 78696 FNAG
Rupert Huddy has over 25 years experience in the retail and manufacturing areas
of the jewellery trade. After leaving the Sir John Cass School of Art in 1977 where
he studied silversmithing and allied trades, he went into the family business of
retail jewellers. Leaving that behind in 2002 to seek further experience, he worked
for an independent company providing validation and repair services to insurance
companies. Rupert is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association and a Fellow of the
National Association of Goldsmiths. He has also completed his diamond diploma with
the Gemmological Association, and the Retail Jewellers Diploma.

Tony Beck MIRV 91705 FGA FNAG
Registered Valuer Tony has been in the trade for 40 years, and began his career
with a jewellery retail group in North West England. After opening his own shop
some time later he developed an interest in valuing and set up his own valuing company
“Select Jewellery Valuation Services”. In 2004 Tony was awarded a Fellowship of
the National Association of Goldsmiths in recognition of his expertise. Tony is
also a Fellow of the Gemmological Association and joined the Guild of Valuers &
Jewellers in 2007 as one of our expert valuers.

Nigel Campbell MIRV 03287
Nigel started in the jewellery trade during the early 1970s and during this time
he studied jewellery repairs, manufacturing, sales and display, also attaining the
Retail Jewellers Diploma from the National Association of Goldsmiths. He then went
on to continue his studies with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. He
has worked for a number of independent jewellers and became a Registered Valuer
in 1986. Nigel studied a number of subjects with the Gemmological Institute of America
in New York and recently also gained a certificate in delivering learning. Nigel
joined the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers in 2007 as one of our expert jewellery
valuers.

Nick Hadler MIRV 93610 FNAG
Nick is an NAG registered valuer and has held the position of the Valuation Centre
Manager here at The Guild of Valuers & Jewellers for the past two years. With
ten years experience in the jewellery trade, Nick has worked through The National
Association of Goldsmiths qualifications starting with the Professional Jewellers
Diploma in 2002, followed by The Professional Jewellers Gemstone Diploma in 2006
and achieving The Professional Jewellers Valuation Diploma in 2009. He has recently
been accepted as a Fellow member of The National Association of Goldsmiths.

Leona Fish MIRV 93209 BA(Hons), PJ Dip, Gem Dip, Val Dip
Leona began her career in 1998 when she completed a Bachelor of Arts honours degree
in Three Dimensional Design Silversmithing and Jewellery, and then started work
in a small independent jewellers. Leona then moved to a larger multiple jewellers
where she progressed to assistant manager of a large retail store. During this time
she obtained her Professional Jewellers Diploma. In 2002 Leona started working for
Loss Management Group in Bath, initially as a loss assessor before becoming
a senior repairs assessor. She has also obtained the Professional Jewellers Gemmology
Diploma and Professional Jewellers Valuation Diploma, and became a registered valuer
in 2009.
