Congratulations Tony Doyle - from the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers - October 08
Valuation specialists the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers were the proud sponsors of the 2008 Store Manager of the Year award at the recent NPA conference which was awarded to Tony Doyle of Harvey & Thompson. Guild marketing controller Helen Deighton said, “We were very pleased to sponsor such an important award at this year’s conference. Tony Doyle was a deserving winner and having worked with Harvey & Thompson on valuation services throughout 2008 we were glad to see one of their managers receiving such recognition.

“A strong and dynamic store manager is so key to the success of a business, particularly in terms of motivating and training staff and attracting new customers. The best Valuation Days we have run have been largely down to forward thinking and committed store managers really getting behind the events and maximising both the revenue and the publicity they can create. Congratulations to Tony and to Harvey & Thompson from all at the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers for this well deserved award.” The Guild were also present throughout this year’s conference to talk to delegates about their valuation services and held their usual stand in the Westbourne Suite.

GVJ and Assay Office London launch Valuation Service - July 08
The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office London has collaborated with the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers to offer a professional valuation service for jewellery, watches and silverware to the jewellery trade. This is the latest in a series of exciting developments for the UK’s oldest hallmarking authority aimed at providing a centre of excellence for retailers and manufacturers alike. 
Deputy Warden Dr Robert Organ said, “We are delighted to be working with the Guild of Valuers & Jewellers. By adding the Guild’s experience and valuing expertise to our established service offering we are able to respond to our customers' needs; we are a full service provider for the trade and aim to be the leading valuation service provider throughout the UK.”
The Assay Office London valuing team is headed up by Registered Valuer Steven Jordan and boasts a substantial wealth of experience and knowledge. The service includes popular roadshow-style Valuation Days, a drop off service at two convenient locations in London, on-site visits for jewellers and postal valuations.
 
 
Guild looks to expand valuation team - Mar 08
The Guild of Valuers & Jewellers is currently looking to expand its team of expert in-house valuers throughout the UK and Ireland after enjoying its best year of trading yet in 2007.   
Guild Sales Manager Chris Simpson confirmed, "With over 1000 valuation events held last year we are looking for experienced jewellery valuers to join our team. Demand for valuations is increasing year on year."
